TKWA was hired to develop a master plan for Smith’s Crossing, a 600-acre planned community envisioned as a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood offering high-quality and diverse options for places to live, work, and play. Located in the rolling countryside near Madison, Smith’s Crossing places a premium on an integrated land ethic that celebrates both community and continued stewardship of the land.

The master plan features diverse housing options, wide sidewalks, abundant greenspaces, and community gathering places. The development is centered around an 1860’s brick house, moved from its current location to be the prototype for this sustainable community. Families will find retail, community buildings, and housing.
