Lakefront Brewery
Milwaukee’s own Lakefront Brewery started in 1987. The industrious and inventive microbrewery located on the Milwaukee River has become a Milwaukee landmark. Its rich history includes partnerships with local taverns, preservation of local historical pieces, unique tours, family style dining options and most importantly, great beer.
TKWA was hired to design several phased improvements at Lakefront’s historic Milwaukee River location: a large ADA-compliant entrance ramp and canopy, a variety of interior space improvements, and most recently, expanded outdoor riverwalk seating.

In order to fully embrace and celebrate the river and the riverwalk, TKWA designed an enhanced walkway, new bathroom facilities, an outdoor bar, and a completely new exterior staircase and deck. The new facilities significantly expand Lakefront Brewery’s outdoor experience and create a special place to cherish a view of downtown Milwaukee.
Says Lakefront Brewery owner Russ Klisch: “We believe in the city and we believe in the riverwalk.”
