Sand Valley Golf Resort

Located on the site of an ancient glacial lake that covered much of central Wisconsin, Sand Valley Golf Resort has become an internationally recognized destination for golf aficionados. Since its inaugural course opened in 2013, Sand Valley has rapidly expanded by adding new 18-hole courses, year-round resort amenities, and a variety of luxury ownership and rental housing options.

TKWA was engaged by Sand Valley to design a private residence on a wooded lot in the newly developed Sedge Village neighborhood of the resort. Because the house was intended to be used both by the homeowner and as a rental property for Sand Valley guests, a key design criteria was to create a “luxury home in an efficient manner”.

4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and screened porch single family home

The home is contemporary in design, yet befitting of its location in a naturalized environment, the building materials include cedar and charred wood exterior siding and a standing seam metal roof. Strong indoor-outdoor connections are emphasized, with large window openings offering views to the water, woods, and dune landscape. An inviting screened porch, and exterior deck areas, further enhance outdoor living.

The building floor plan includes a central open-plan kitchen and living area with vaulted ceilings and fireplace. The bedroom wing includes four bedrooms, each with private bath, which accommodates golf foursomes (and spouse or partner). Each bedroom also includes views to the exterior.

In addition to the custom Sedge Village home, TKWA is architectural design for Sand Valley model homes and other resort amenities.
