Boy Scouts of America: Camp Krietenstein
As part of an extensive 7-camp master planning effort, TKWA worked with Scouts BSA’s Crossroads of America Council to help reimagine the experience and facilities at Camp Krietenstein. This camp is steeped in tradition and has served Scouting families of the greater Wabash Valley since 1922. Key strategic facility improvements can enhance Camp Krietenstein as an appealing year-round destination for Scouting units, as well as other organizations and groups.
TKWA’s work focused on creating a place that is the physical and symbolic “Heart of Camp” with new features such as the aquatics area, activity center, and trading post cantina – in addition to the recently built dining hall. During early planning, the design team worked closely with the Crossroads of America Council to develop a uniquely crafted Pattern Language to guide future design and construction of site and facility improvements.
