University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee: Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons
With the construction of the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Golda Meir Library, the campus has created a new focal point for its community, integrating technology, services, and academics into an attractive, welcoming place for students.
The existing library was completely remodeled to create an open, active volume with individual and group study areas scattered throughout. These smaller pockets include classrooms, presentation areas, circular couches, collaborative booths, desks, computer stations for both quick and extended use, and reconfigurable groupings of tables and chairs, and they are designed to offer students varying levels of privacy and activity with access to a wide variety of resources.
